Description

The A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Jumping Seconds 252.056 debuted in 2025 as a limited edition of 100 pieces. It is housed in a white gold case of 39.9mm with a thickness of 10.6mm, fitted with sapphire crystals front and back. The dial is crafted in pink gold, featuring black printed markings and three intersecting circles for the hours, minutes, and seconds, inspired by 18th-century precision chronometers. The largest sub-dial is devoted to the jumping seconds, with hours and minutes shown in the smaller subsidiary dials. A triangular aperture between the hour and minute circles serves as an end-of-power indication, turning red when 10 hours of reserve remain. The Richard Lange Jumping Seconds is powered by the manually wound caliber L094.1. Comprising 390 parts, this movement integrates three distinctive mechanisms: a constant-force escapement with in-house manufactured remontoir spring, a jumping seconds display, and the ZERO-RESET mechanism. It has a diameter of 33.6mm, a height of 6.0mm, and contains 50 jewels, including 8 screwed gold chatons. The balance beats at 21,600 vph and is paired with an in-house balance spring; power reserve is 42 hours. Movement finishing includes untreated German silver plates and bridges, blued screws, hand-engraved balance cock, and elaborate decoration to Lange’s highest standards. The watch is completed with a dark brown alligator strap secured by a white gold prong buckle.
